To empower communities to create positive changes in attitudes, behaviors and policies to prevent and reduce at risk behavior in youth with a unified focus on alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
What is VOICES?
VOICES is a community coalition funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services, established for the purpose of assisting communities in developing policies, procedures and activities to prevent youth from using alcohol, drugs, and tobacco.
VOICES Community Coalition will implement environmental strategies designed to accomplish the following goals:
- To prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth in each community served
- To strengthen collaboration in communities and link them to existing community-based prevention, intervention, and treatment services.

*Civic/Volunteer groups
*Law Enforcement
*Treatment/Recovery Organizations
VOICES is actively seeking volunteers from Lubbock, Crosby, Hockley, Lynn, Terry and Hale counties to serve as members of the coalition.
Members will have the opportunity to:

- Be an advocate for community needs that relate to substance abuse and chemical dependency issues among youth.
- Provide referrals for youth affected by substance use/abuse and chemical dependency.
- Participate in various prevention conferences statewide.
